"I knew when I met you an adventure was going to happen."
— A.A. Milne
"It's lovely to live on a raft. We had the sky up there, all speckled with stars, and we used to lay on our backs and look up at them, and discuss about whether they was made or only just happened." — Mark Twain
I love doing outdoor sessions & when the idea of Easter came into my head, I immediately thought "outdoors" & "woods". I wanted to do something that stood out from the standard indoor set-up with props, artificial light & not to mention those SCARY bunnies! Something that was natural, beautiful & that you could hang in your home all year round. Children love being outside, It's where their personality shines & where they are free to be themselves . I love capturing those rare moments especially with these two siblings.
"Hallo, Rabbit,” he said, “is that you?”
"Let’s pretend it isn’t,” said Rabbit, “and see what happens."
— A.A. Milne
Sometimes it's nice just to sit their an observe what the children will do next. For this little beauty it was hugging our little lamb closely. I believe that photographs tell a simple story just from one glance, not every image has to be a smile to make it a beautiful one.
Anyone who knows me knows that I love the rustic, vintage feel when it comes to my photography. I decided to incorporate my love for all things rustic and use them in my newborn sessions.Simple, organic, yet beautiful. I'm not a fan of bright flashy colors or tons of props. I want the focus to remain on my subject .
My favorite thing to do when preparing for a newborn session is seeking out some great vintage finds. For awhile now I have been wanting to get a patchwork country quilt. I was lucky enough to find this beautiful handmade quilt and utilize it in my session. The quilt was purchased at one of my favorite little antique stores in Bayport, NY. The enamel bowl was another great find at antique store out east.
